WaterVille Valley---That's the place I want to be!

What a terrific weekend the Hawk boys and their fam's had this past week.
The ice was hard and fast. The rink was coooooold, the weather was awesome and the food at the Family meal was great. Golf, Boating, fishing, biking and a little snoozing (me- between sessions), was enough to keep the team and their sibblings busy! The kids skated twice a day for and hour and a half each session. After working out all of the Lax, baseball, and soccer cobwebs the boys started to look like a team. There is still plenty to work on and the kids know it. They came as individuals and left a team. They are all looking forward to the season. Win, lose or draw, this team will work hard and have a ball doing it. That's what it is all about.

                Spirited Night
Wed night (07-30) some of the '92 and '94 Jr Hawks traveled to "New Frasier Field" in Lynn Mass to see the areas newest pro baseball team play, the North Shore Spirit. The night was filled with great food and fun. The kids loved all of the extra curricular activities, especially the speed pitch booth. The kids got 3 pitches and on the third had to guess the speed. Many of the boys and girls (Jessica Jacques of next year's '97 team) won gift certificates and prizes. Alex and Chris Minter ('92 & '94) got a chance to hit a 10 foot golf putt and just missed the prize!
Coach Jacques won the homerun contest by slamming one over the left field wall. Of course he had some help from Ray Jr ('94) who took the first hit and got the ball w/in striking distance from the wall. All in all it was a terrific night. The park is state -of -the -art, and beautiful. Despite the home team falling to the visitors from Elmira the kids had a blast! Billy Olson even won the dance contest!   Thanks again to Leslie Minter for putting the night together.
You can go to www.northshorespirit.com if you are interested in getting tickets to a future game.

              Baseball Ends for Hawks
Congrads to all of the 92 LJ River Hawks who participated in their respective leagues & all star teams. It was a great spring and early summer for you guys and your parents are proud of you. I don't know if Lax is over yet, but I do know that Fall is coming and with that, an exciting year awaits!

              Hot Wheels
The wheels were smokin on Sunday as the 92's took to the Ipswich River Park roller rink to go through the 2003-04 systems with coaches Jacques, and Hills. Despite the 88 degree temps the team had a blast and more importantly got to know one another a little better.

There was, however, a little controversy at coach Jacques' house afterwards when no one could hit his fastball, of course until John Fitzgerald showed up.Hobbling on his bad wheel (only for about 1 more week), he stepped to the plate and belted one that hasn't landed yet! I'll get you in W'Ville Fitzy!
Great day for the parents and siblings. I'm sure that there will be many
      more to follow.

          Great Day "Fore" Riverhawks!
On Saturday 06-12-03  the '92 & '94 Lowell Jr. R'Hawk Parents and friends got together to "Tee it up" in the first annual Jr Hawk Classic, held at Far Corner Golf Club in Boxford, MA. Over 60 golfers and many volunteers "chipped-in" to help these two teams defray the high costs associated with participating in the Metro Boston Hockey League. The golf course was in excellent condition and the weather really co-operated, as play started in the late morning.
There were many highlights of the day, where teams made great shots.
Although it wasn't quite as loud as Augusta National it was great to hear an occasional group  whoop it up on various greens (although there was some whooping after the tourney in the clubhouse).
"Of "course", and most importantly, we raised over $2,000.,which will be a great help to many of the players' families. Many thanks to all of those who participated in some way, whether they donated prizes, manned (or womened) some of the tee boxes, or played in this tournament!
An extra special thanks to Wayne Minter for all of his hard work and                           dedication. This day wouldn't have transpired if not for him!
All I can say, and all that I heard onSaturday, is
"I can't wait for next year"!

Good time on Saturday for those who made the trek to Tyngsboro.
The kids' attitudes were great. We are looking forward to Waterville!

Special Thanks to Michelle Jacques, Leslie Minter, and Cindy Norwood
(Norwood Electric- One of our sponsors)  for helping to raise close to $2,000
for the 92 and 94 R'Hawks at the 10th Annual New England Schooner,
Client Appreciation: Golf Tournament last week.

FYI  Alex Minter, a 92 Jr R'Hawk forward, hit a 40ft putt on his first try.
Ray Jr and Chris Minter, his cousins, are still trying!

Kudos to Terry Olson for getting his company, Lycos, to pay for the jackets for the '94 team. They awarded us $1,000, which Terry graciously put towards the entire team.
We will proudly display their Logo for this coming season!
Thanks Terry!

Gallagher's "Magic Show" entertains 92, 94 Parents and Players.

The 92 Lowell Jr R' Hawks had their first, unofficial practice on Saturday afternoon in Tyngsboro. The team showed very good work ethic and sported a very positive attitude.

It was very evident to the coaches that most of the players have been hard at work, practicing their shots and skating. It was, however, apparent that the team does have alot to work on if they want to compete for a playoff spot come september.

After a rigorous one hour skate, the team engaged eachother in a short scrimage game.

The highlights however, were after the game when the team, and the 94 team, had a shootout against the one and only goalie to attend the practice. Tyler Gallagher stopped 34 0f 40 shots and really put on a great show for all in attendance (28 skaters) making save after save. The kids had a great time and got to know eachother a little better.
